Launched in 1993, the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer was a home video game console developed by The 3DO Company. Unlike other consoles of its time, it came with a built-in CD drive, setting a new trend for future gaming systems. Despite its technological advancements, the console was expensive and was not able to compete effectively against more affordable systems like the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn, leading to its commercial failure.
